Start your engines! EG is about to make Rocket League a little more evil.
Announced by the Rocket League Championship Series on September 29, Evil Geniuses will enter the 2021-2022 RLCS season. Representing EG in competition are:
Leonardo “Catalysm” Crist Ramos
Ivan “ivn” Sabri
Riccardo “Rizex45” Mazzotta
Kuno “Mumen” Hildebrandt (Coach)
Previously competing under the team name of “German Amigos”, the roster has seen incredible success since March of this year with a 75% match win rate. Working with Evil Geniuses gaming and data teams, the new roster looks to continue this momentum in the upcoming EU RLCS season.
“This roster of young and talented players deserves to be backed up by one of the best organizations in the industry and we believe our team will compete with the best right out the gate,” said Danny Engels, Gaming Excellence Director at EG. “We didn’t enter Rocket League just to passively compete; we are here to win championships.”
Rocket League, published by Psyonix, is the first game title EG has fielded a new roster in since establishing a VALORANT team in January.
“In our discussions with Psyonix, we were impressed with the direction they are taking with the RLCS, and the competitive ecosystem they are building for the future,” said Nicole LaPointe Jameson, CEO of Evil Geniuses. “Combine that with the explosion in popularity, especially after going free-to-play, we knew EG had to be involved. We’re excited to teach the RLCS what it means to #LIVEEVIL.”
Fans can show their support for Evil Geniuses by kitting up their battle-car with custom made home and away in-game decals as part of the all new Esports Shop. Home decals are available now with Away decals coming later in the season.
EG debuts in the RLCS arena on October 15-17 battling their way into the first Regional of the 2021-22 season. Follow Evil Geniuses on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date on the new Rocket League team.
